■ Current research
|
Currently, I am working on the making of a corpus of written texts in Vietnamese. This Vietnamese language corpus will provide the suitable data/materials for Vietnamese language teaching and for the assessment of Vietnamese language proficiency in accordance with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). In order to achieve this goal, this corpus will be developed based on data collected from a variety of sources such as old writing tests, newspaper articles, articles on the Internet, etc. CEFR levels will be integrated to serve as data/document filters, so that users of the corpus can easily access the data that are appropriate to the levels of CEFR. With the data provided by this corpus, users can easily plan their lessons matching the descriptions of the levels of CEFR. In the second phase, the corpus will cover the spoken texts in Vietnamese. The research will try to collect as many spoken situations and contexts as possible, although it may not be exhaustive. The aim here is also to provide the suitable data/material for Vietnamese language teaching and assessment in terms of speaking and listening, so that the users of the corpus can easily plan their lessons and tests.
