| 概要 | This study evaluated transcorneal electrical stimulation as a noninvasive intervention for age- and Alzheimer-related cognitive decline. Aged mice and 5xFAD mice received three weeks of stimulation before Y-maze and Morris water-maze testing. Stimulation improved hippocampal-dependent memory in both models. In male 5xFAD mice it also reduced hippocampal amyloid plaques and restored postsynaptic density protein 95, effects not observed to the same extent in females. The findings support further investigation of transcorneal stimulation while highlighting sex-dependent pathology and the need to clarify its neural mechanisms. |
