概要	UNESCO’s World Heritage inscription is considered to have positive effects on tourism demand. However, existing studies on this matter render inconsistent results. In this study, we used a meta-analysis to synthesize the effects of World Heritage Site (WHS) status across 344 estimates from a collection of 43 studies. The results of meta-regression indicate that several factors explaining the effect size of WHS on tourism demand, such as research period, development level of the destination country, heritage type, dyadic data type, WHS endowment measure, and use of robust standard error. Also, a sub-group analysis underscores different factors in developing vs. developed countries and cultural vs. natural WHS types. Lastly, implications are provided for destination/heritage management and tourism researcher based on meta-regression results.
