| 概要 | This study examines how religion and religiosity influence tourists’ risk perceptions, self-efficacy, and travel intentions in two disaster-prone destinations in the “Ring of Fire”: Padang, Indonesia, and Beppu, Japan. Using a mixed-methods approach, including interviews and a survey of 486 domestic tourists, the findings reveal that religion and religiosity have complex effects on post-disaster travel intentions. Belief in God’s protection may increase confidence to visit disaster-affected destinations despite perceived risks, while beliefs in ghosts may negatively influence destination perceptions. The study highlights the importance of considering religious and cultural beliefs when developing post-disaster destination marketing and risk communication strategies. |
