| 概要 | This study examined whether tyrosine supplementation improves behavioral flexibility when cognitive demands are high. Healthy adults received tyrosine or placebo and completed a flexibility task under demanding conditions. Contrary to the expectation that a dopamine precursor would enhance executive control, tyrosine impaired flexible responding when cognitive load was greatest. The results support an inverted-U account of catecholamine function: raising precursor availability may be beneficial only when baseline demand or dopamine tone is low, while producing poorer performance when the cognitive system is already strongly engaged. |
