| 概要 | This review examines serotonin-targeting treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and considers DNA methylation as a mechanism linking serotonergic dysfunction with pathology and cognition. It summarizes age- and disease-related changes in serotonergic innervation, receptors, transporters, and signaling, then evaluates existing and emerging serotonergic drugs. The authors argue that epigenetic regulation may help explain inconsistent treatment responses and reveal new targets. Future therapies may need to combine receptor- or transporter-specific actions with correction of disease-related methylation patterns, supported by biomarkers that identify patients most likely to benefit. |
