| 概要 | This animal study tested whether L-methionine enhances the memory effects of high-frequency prelimbic cortical stimulation during aging. Combined treatment improved hippocampal-dependent spatial memory and promoted DNMT3a-dependent DNA methylation, neuroplasticity-related gene expression, neurogenesis, and monoaminergic signaling while suppressing calcineurin. Blocking hippocampal DNA methyltransferases reproduced age-related deficits and abolished the stimulation benefit, establishing a causal role for methylation. The results identify hippocampal DNMT activity as a key mediator of neuromodulation-induced memory improvement and suggest that methyl-donor support may augment future stimulation-based interventions for cognitive decline. |
