Details | This thesis is an anthropological study of old age and Buddhism in Vietnam. In Vietnam, Buddhism is dominantly practiced by women of senior age. My thesis explores the interweaving relation between old age and Buddhist practice. I explore how Vietnamese women navigate the late stage of life, cope with natural infirmities, physical declines, and uncertainties of old age by relying on Buddhist belief and practice. |
