概要 To understand study-abroad students’ learning from wider perspectives, this study investigates participants’ awareness, learning and growth based on textual data - their daily reflective journals. Sixteen students joined a four-week overseas education internship in which they assisted Japanese classes in six high schools in Thailand. The KJ method was employed to analyze their journals during the program. The results highlight the participants’ awareness and learning through interaction with other members who worked at the same school. Mainly, the study shows that mutual relationships in a team setting became key to improving their teaching skills and understanding themselves and others. Understanding others, especially, helped develop trust, cooperation and personal growth among the members. Mutual interaction with members is also discussed alongside cooperation and collaborative learning perspectives.
