Details This chapter evaluates the practice of role-based literature circles (LCs) in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts. Findings from work conducted between 2014 and 2019, while the author was coordinating EFL programs at a Japanese university (Sevigny 2019), form the basis for appraising issues that need to be revised with regard to this teaching method.
