概要	The Korean government has simultaneously pursued FTAs with various trade partners since 2003, and formal FTA negotiations with China are to begin this year. In this respect, this paper analyzes trade status of the services industries of Korea and China, and compared their international competitiveness based on the bilateral trade in services. Korea has absolute comparative advantages in transportation, insurance, royalties and license fees, and its competitiveness is enhanced in every services industries with apparent dynamic change. If China's service market is opened up greatly after the Korea-China FTA, the Korean economy and companies can gain access to important business opportunities, and the Korean service industry will have a new momentum to grow. However, China will prefer a gradual FTA policy on the service industry, considering its relatively lower competitiveness. Korea has to deal with important challenges to obtain high-level commitments in the FTA negotiations with China in almost all areas of the service sector.
