概要	Medicinal and edible plants play an important role in formation and development of traditional knowledge. The use of medicinal plants in cooking local food and recipes create the need for communities to sustain natural resources and help them to become more resilient against climate change and natural disasters. Communities in rural Japan are blessed by diversity of medicinal and edible plants that were once the main source of local cuisines but became unknown to people during last few decades. This webinar showcases local initiatives of using medicinal plants in everyday food and wise use of biodiversity for local development in rural areas of Oita Prefecture in Kyushu Japan. The panelists share their experience of using medicinal plants in health and wellness tourism.
