事項	The Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT) Oita Chapter’s Pechakucha event presenter
概要	In April , I gave a presentation at the Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT) Oita Chapter’s Pechakucha event. It was entitled , Read for Speed , and reported on the research findings of an intensive speed reading course conducted with freshman as part of the pre-APU English camp , 2016. The presentation sought to encourage teachers to implement a planned speed reading course in order to increase their students' reading speed , so they can handle the large quantities of texts they must read during their studies at APU. The research found that even a short speed reading course can have a significant impact on students’ reading speeds and offered a template for other teachers to implement a speed reading course in their own classes.
