Details | 1) Domestic vs. International students Statistics of students enrolled in my classes show an increasing number of Japanese students taking English-based subjects in tourism and hospitality. The proportion of domestic students in my class ranges from minimum of 25% to maximum of 66% of total students. It is challenging to accommodate different needs of international and domestic students due to different level of language proficiency , particularly in group work. Using Japanese cases , knowledge and statistics for group project , Japanese students have opportunities to contribute significantly to group projects. This design is useful to increase the level of confidence among Japanese students when grouping with international students. However , it is one of the most challenging tasks to group domestic and international students in a team. |
