Item FD Workshop on the Progress Test Making Progress: Helping students to make gains on the Progress test
Details This workshop outlined work that has been carried out to improve our understanding of and implementation of the Progress test in the English Programme. Contents 1. A very brief introduction to the test and how and why it was introduced 2. Explanation of some question types 3. Explanation of the skill areas students have most difficulty with (e.g. reading and writing) 4. Focus on two question types which are closely related to the skill areas mentioned in (3) and the methods/materials developed to practice those 5. Distribution of other questions from the test (each group will receive an example of a different question type) 6. Request to groups to think of ways that students could practice the skills needed to answer their question type well. 7.Sharing of ideas group by group
