Message to undergraduate students: Many of the papers I teach relating to economics are often thought of amongst the current student body as difficult subjects to learn. Perhaps it’s because there are so many logic-driven explanations that require a solid understanding of mathematics. However, grasping subjects such as these is, in fact, beneficial in terms of being able to think logically and understand how things in the world work. I hope that you will all study hard. Message to graduate school students: I trust that you will devote yourselves to your studies at graduate school just as though you received a job offer to do research. Writing your thesis is a central part of graduate studies and building up a base of knowledge and information is an important part of this process, but it is also important to develop a greater awareness of the issues and the ability to identify the issues that need to be analyzed. Please choose your research theme with caution for once you have decided it I expect you to stick with it to the end.
