■ メッセージ
I have specialized in urban and regional planning, development, policy, and design by integrating practical, research, and teaching experiences. I am an alumnus of the Bartlett, UCL Faculty of the Built Environment (QS World University Subject Ranking: ranked #3 in the world and #1 in the UK in 2022), as well as an alumnus of the Department of Civil Engineering, the University of Tokyo. I hold professional qualifications such as a Chartered Town Planner of UK's Royal Town Planning Institute, Professional Engineer (Civil Engineering: Urban and Regional Planning) (JPN Nat’l QUAL), Urban Renewal Planner, Real Estate Notary (JPN Nat’l QUAL), Licensed Representative of Condominium Management Company (JPN Nat’l QUAL), Property Manager (JPN Nat'l QUAL), APEC Engineer (Civil), IPEA International Engineer (Japan), URCA Condominium Rebuilding Advisor, and Affiliated Financial Planner.
I have various practical experiences in both international and domestic consultancy services in the field of planning and development. These practical experiences cover projects at different spatial scales ranging from master planning through urban (re)development to the land utilization of an individual site. These projects include those funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency or the Japan External Trade Organization. My experiences include countries, such as Mongolia, Qatar, Ghana, Vietnam, Pakistan, China, Philippines, and Japan. After accumulating practical experiences, I completed my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nicholas A. Phelps (Professor and Chair of Urban Planning, The University of Melbourne/ Formerly, Professor of Urban and Regional Development, UCL) and Prof. Dr. John Tomaney (Professor of Urban and Regional Planning, UCL).
My interests include spatial and (sub)urban policies and planning, international comparative planning studies, (sub)urban and architectural analysis and design, regional and rural development, international development, sustainable and resilient development, economic development, shrinking cities, smart cities, disaster management (especially, water-related disasters amid climate change), historic preservation, and interdisciplinary approaches for the built and natural environments among urban and regional planning and design, architecture, civil engineering, public policies, and urban economics.
I am sincerely welcome to have research or practical collaborations with students, researchers, and/or practitioners based on my interests above, with a passion for industry-academia-government collaborations. Separately from my profile described in this website, my professional CV, which includes details of practical experiences with names of projects and clients, is available depending on requests for these collaborations.
